Tuesday 8th January I turned on the radio to see if I could make any contacts as part of the RSGB FMAC 70cm contest.
I decided I would do this as a try out to see if I enjoyed contesting.
That band wasn’t that busy from my location but as I was only using a collinear so I wasn’t expecting greatness.
Overall during the 55 minutes that the contest took place I only made 4 contacts but it gave me a good idea of how well my setup worked. One station was particularly weak and in the noise but they managed to hear me as well or better then I heard them (Do we believe signal reports in contests?)
Here is a map of my contacts. My score can also be viewed on the RSGB Website.
